Desperate times call for desperate measures. And since there’s nothing worse than having a cell phone that’s sitting at 1% battery life, electronic hacks are absolutely necessary. What if your big screen TV is plagued with those fuzzy lines, or your charge cord is on the fritz? Other than panic, what can you do?
Well, I’m glad you asked because we’ve put together a simple list of seven electronic hacks that are absolutely mind-blowing. Not only will they save you time and money, they’ll also prevent you from banging your head against the wall in frustration.
One of the most infuriating things in the world is forgetting to pack your phone charger while on a road trip. Sure, you can charge it in your car via USB (provided your vehicle has one), but what about when you retire for the night?
Have no fear. If you’re staying the night in a hotel before continuing your journey, you’ll be pleased to know that most televisions have at least one USB port on the side. Plug your device into the TV and watch it charge. You can also do this with most laptops.
Although you may have one of the most technologically-advanced TVs on the market, there’s still a chance the picture isn’t crystal clear due to signal interference. Don’t you worry, though. Simply place a sheet of tin foil between any electronic devices that are stacked on top of each other.
This will eliminate the interference and remove those annoying fuzzy lines that prohibit you from watching the game-winning score or the untimely death of your favorite TV show character.
Imagine this: You’re at work and you receive a notification on your phone that your battery is down to 5%. You reach for your charger and discover that you left it on the kitchen counter at home.
Your shift is almost over but you need to squeeze as much juice out of the battery as possible before the work day is done. Don’t fret. Just remove the battery, stick it in the freezer, and allow it to warm back up to room temperature before using it again. The cold will “freeze” your battery outage until you’re ready to use it again, buying you some extra time.
It’s not uncommon for cords and wires to become frayed or broken due to overuse. Not only is it a nuisance, but exposed wires are also extremely dangerous. Here’s a nifty hack that will keep your cords and wires nice and straight, eliminating wear and tear.
Take apart a ballpoint pen and remove the tiny metal spring inside. Wrap the spring around the end of your cord in order to keep it straight. This will also prevent the wire’s cover from wearing off.
Let’s say you’ve completed an assignment or a project for work and are wanting to print it out before representing it. However, your printer is all out of ink and you don’t have the time (or energy) to go out and buy a new cartridge for a few pages.
Check out this awesome trick: Remove the ink cartridge and blow hot air on it for a few minutes with a hairdryer. Once it’s warm, place it back into the printer and proceed. Like magic, your document is ready to go. The heat from the hairdryer loosened the ink stuck to the side of the cartridge, giving you access to every last drop!
